Because you want a prompt response to your email. So send one-topic emails.
When you send a multi-topic email, the recipient thinks “I don’t have time right now” and leaves it in their inbox for “later.”
Avoid this response to your emails. STOP sending multi-topic emails.
Single-subject emails enable the recipient to more quickly choose one of the following responses:
- Tackle: answer immediately
- Task: reply when time allows
- Toss: discard
- Transfer: give to someone else
One subject per email also helps focus the sender because the email is usually clearer.
